Travel across India is set for a massive upgrade as the first Vande Bharat Sleeper trains begin their commercial runs. Designed for distances over 800km, these trains feature world-class interiors, 'surround' air conditioning, and a specialized suspension system for a jerk-free ride. The first routes are expected to connect Delhi to Srinagar and Mumbai to Ahmedabad.

Transforming Long-Distance Rail
"The Sleeper version of the Vande Bharat is designed to replace the aging Rajdhani expresses. With a top speed of 160 km/h, these trains feature 'crash-worthy' designs and fire-retardant materials.
What’s inside the New Coaches?
Ergonomic Bunks: Enhanced cushioning and integrated charging ports for every passenger.
Automatic Doors: Sensor-based internal doors for a seamless cabin experience.
Bio-Vacuum Toilets: Modular touch-free toilets similar to those found on international flights.
The first route between Delhi and Srinagar is expected to cut travel time by nearly 4 hours, making weekend trips to the valley a realistic option for commuters.
